There is a lot of divided opinion about whether we should be eating any food that we want. Pork has become a popular dish in many countries today, so it is only normal that people will question whether what the bible says about eating it is current or even true!
I will explain to you what eating pork and the bible have in common and you will see what the Most High has to say about the eating of pork and you will be able to see where you can find pork in the bible.
To find pork in the bible we have go to the dietary laws that are found in the book of Leviticus and Deuteronomy.
7And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.
8Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch; they are unclean to you.
8And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.
If your read the scriptures above pork is called swine which is another name for it, but more important than this is that scriptures say that it is unclean and must not be eaten or touched if it is dead.
So reading this we can see clearly what the most high says about people eating pork he basically says don’t do it. In fact touching a dead pig is also forbidden by the CREATOR.
Lets look at eating pork and the bible misconceptions often used to support the eating of pork and any other food.
1Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying,
2Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread……
16And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
17Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?
18But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
19For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:
20These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
If you read the scriptures above we see that when the Messiah talks about eating food being eaten without the hands of the person being washed, he is not saying we can eat any food that we like! what he is saying is that the dirt that might be on you hands if you do not wash them will not make you unclean or in other words will not effect your spirit
The point to take from this scripture, is that the subject here was not about any particular food, but whether having dirty hands would make food in general unclean.
as he says
“…but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.”
No new law about the foods we should eat was made here, so the dietary laws still stand and they say that we must not eat swines flesh AKA Pig or Pork or any other name that it is called by.
“And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.”
As a true believer it is your job to obey YHWH, so now you know the truth about Pork it is up to you to re-frame from eating it. Here are some scriptures that show YHWH feeling about swine and some judgements that will come upon those that continue to disobey his commands….
3A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick;
4Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine’s flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
5Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.
6Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,
7Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom.
In the scriptures here we see that the eating of swines flesh, is provoking the Father to anger, we should also notice that there are also other “abominable things”, these can be found by reading the whole of Leviticus 11.
2For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
3He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
Here we see that the Father is looking for people that are “poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word”, not those that “delighteth in their abominations”. Which means eating pork because everybody else is doing so; this is not something that the Father supports.
16For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.
17They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine’s flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.
18For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.
This scripture clearly has not been fulfilled because the gathering of all nations has not happened. We still have countless denominations all claiming to be following the faith of the bible. When this prophecy is fulfilled all nations will come and see the Esteem of the Father. This will be when the third temple is built.
These scriptures will convict you if you are of a “poor (lowly) and of a contrite (broken) spirit” and are seeking to worship the Father in spirit and truth.

I remember eating a prawn sandwich around 2008 and the Holy (Set Apart) Spirit saying to me to “stop eating that“, I also felt an uncleanness in my stomach, which is hard to describe in words, after this I was lead to the dietary law.
Since then consciously avoided eating anything that is considered unclean, not just pork, although pork is one of the most commonly eaten unclean meats by believers. I hope this has cleared up the understanding of pork in the bible….?
